ISLAMABAD: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) has distributed Eid Al-Adha sacrificial meat to poor families in Pakistan, the charity said on Tuesday, as its donations reached over 80,000 people in the country’s north.
During Eid Al-Adha, Muslims traditionally sacrifice livestock and distribute the meat among friends, family and the poor.
Under the Qurbani Project 1443H, the Saudi-based aid agency distributed sacrificial meat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan with the help of local governments and the National Disaster Management Authority.
“KSRelief completed the distribution of the sacrifice of 300 bulls and 600 goats on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha in ten districts of Pakistan so that deserving and affected people can also benefit from the sacrificial meat on Eid day,” the charity said in a statement.
“More than 80,297 people were benefited from this project.”
KSRelief provides humanitarian and development support to millions of beneficiaries in more than 49 countries. Pakistan is the fifth-largest recipient of assistance and received more than $120 million in aid since 2005.
