ISLAMABAD: Deash on Sunday claimed responsibility for a bomb attack that killed two Pakistani police officers near the border with Afghanistan a day earlier, Reuters reported.
The policemen were killed in Bajaur district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where they were posted on security duty near the Raghan Dam.
“Daesh militants detonated an explosive device on Saturday inside barracks of the Pakistani police in the district of Bajaur, the group said on Telegram,” Reuters quoted the Daesh post, which said “a police officer and a policeman were killed.”
Abdus Samad Khan, Bajur district police chief, told reporters on Saturday the officers were “killed in an IED blast that took place at 10 a.m.”
He said the bomb was detonated remotely.
