True leader of Muslim world

This is with reference to the report “King Salman is ‘Islamic Personality of the Year’” (June 30). It is very true that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has emerged as the undisputed leader of the Muslim world. The actions he has been taking since ascending the throne have rekindled hopes among Muslims all across the world that they have a leader who feels their pain and who wants to take steps to address issues facing the Muslim world. Perhaps that is why “forces of darkness” are on the move to create obstacles in the path of the “leader of the Muslims.”

It has, however, become evident that our leader remains unfazed by such evil conspiracies. Under the leadership of King Salman, the changes we are witnessing in the Kingdom’s foreign policy will have far-reaching effects not only on Saudi Arabia but also the entire Muslim world.

Due to the presence of Islam’s two holiest sites in Saudi Arabia, it is the undisputed center of Islam. The country and its leadership command great respect among Muslims across the world. It is not just the political leadership that is respected worldwide; the Saudi religious authorities are loved across the Muslim world. Whenever any Saudi scholar, particularly somebody linked with the two holy mosques like Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, for instance, visits any Muslim country, one should closely monitor how the leaders and masses of that country are treating him.
