ABU DHABI: The eighth edition of the UAE National MMA Championships will be held here at Mubadala Arena, Zayed Sports City, on April 18 and 19 featuring some of the nation’s top competitors.
The event, organized by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, will have athletes competing across age and weight categories.
The fighters are set to compete across the Youth D (10-11 years), Youth C (12-13), Youth B (14-15), Youth A (16-17), and Adult (18 and above) categories.
Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al-Dhaheri, board member of the federation, said the growth of the sport at national and international level reflects the country’s vision to nurture and develop local talent.
Al-Dhaheri added that the growing interest in MMA demonstrates increased public awareness of the sport’s role in building character, boosting self-confidence, and developing the ability to face challenges.
