Suicide bomber kills senior Iraq police officer in Baiji: officials

KIRKUK, Iraq: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-rigged tanker truck in Iraq’s northern town of Baiji on Friday, killing a senior police officer, officials said.
The blast in the town, where security forces and pro-government fighters are battling to regain ground from Islamic State group jihadists, killed Major General Faisal Ahmed and wounded nine policemen.
