Duncan, who was pinch-hitting, and Cabrera both had two-run singles during the eighth to put Cleveland ahead 7-2. Duncan had a bases-loaded drive off J.P. Howell that hit the left-field wall, but he was held to a single because it looked like outfielder Sam Fuld might catch the ball.

In Seattle, Adam Kennedy scored Luis Rodriguez with a bloop single off Mariano Rivera in the bottom of the 12th as Seattle edged New York and won for the ninth time in 10 games.
Rivera (1-1) made career appearance No. 1,001 in the 12th inning and gave up a one-out single by Justin Smoak and a double by Jack Cust. Rodriguez replaced Smoak as a pinch-runner at third, and after an intention walk to load the bases, Kennedy dumped an pitch in front of the center fielder to score Rodriguez.
David Pauley (4-0) worked two innings of relief to get the victory.
In Toronto, Corey Patterson hit a game-ending homer in the 14th inning to lift Toronto over Chicago.
Patterson, who tied a career high with five hits, led off the 14th with a drive to right off Gavin Floyd (5-5) for his third homer of the season. It was the fourth game-winning homer of his career.
Floyd pitched seven innings in Texas on Wednesday but was called out of the bullpen in the 13th, his first relief appearance since 2007.
Jose Bautista also went long, for his majors-leading 20th homer of the season.
Blue Jays left-hander Luis Perez (1-0) pitched 3 2-3 shutout innings for his first career win.
In Arlington, Texas, Mitch Moreland, Mike Napoli and Endy Chavez hit consecutive homers to match a club record, powering Texas past Kansas City.
Three straight Rangers homered for the fifth time in club history. It hadn’t happened since 2004 and was the first time any team had done it this season.
Texas’ Matt Harrison (5-4) pitched six shutout innings, walking only one.

The teams combined for only three hits until the decisive 10th, when Valencia lobbed a flyball over the right fielder’s head.
Twins starter Anthony Swarzak, a late fill-in for Francisco Liriano (shoulder), didn’t give up a hit until the eighth.
Angels starter Jered Weaver needed a season-high 128 pitches in nine innings, but gave up only two hits while striking out seven.
