DUBAI: For years, Mosaad “Msdossary” Aldossary has been one of the defining names in EA Sports FC.
After winning the FIFA eWorld Cup in 2018 and reaching the final again the following year, he helped establish the Middle East and North Africa as a region capable of producing world-class talent.
His success inspired a generation of players and demonstrated that competitors from MENA could challenge the world’s best. As the Esports World Cup 2026 continues in Paris, Msdossary returned to football esports’ biggest stage, and made sure the competition remembered who he was.
But he is not just a pro player. He is also the founder and chairman of Team Falcons, who are looking to win a third consecutive Esports World Cup Club Championship, proving their command of the entire esports industry as genuine contenders in every major title.
But he was just one of the stars from the region competing in the tournament. Six of the 36 players in the EA Sports FC 26 World Championship are from the Middle East and North Africa, representing Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Algeria and Qatar. Together, they compete for organizations including Team Falcons, Al-Qadsiah Esports, FUT Esports, and Team Vitality.
Across the field are Saudi Arabia players including Msdossary and AbuMakkah, alongside Morocco’s xcharifx and Adam Hatake, Algeria’s Ilian, and Qatar’s RXSHIID.
The presence of Team Falcons and others signal a region no longer content to take part, but investing to build, compete, and win. For MENA’s next generation, that means clearer pathways, stronger support and a genuine route from local competition to the world stage.
Different journeys, 1 tournament
Behind every qualification lies a different story. While their journeys to Paris have taken different routes, they share the same opportunity: competing against the world’s best on one of football esports’ biggest stages.
For Msdossary, the journey began with a love of football that gradually evolved into a professional career spanning almost a decade.
“I started playing because I loved football, and over the past nine years that passion has become my profession,” Msdossary said.
For fellow Saudi player AbuMakkah, the inspiration came from watching those who had already reached the highest level.
“I’ve loved this game for as long as I can remember, but watching Saudi players compete at the World Championship qualifiers in 2021 made me believe I could do it too.
“Since then, I’ve gone from community tournaments to competing among the world’s best. If you keep working and believe in yourself, the results will come,” AbuMakkah said.
Representing more than yourself
Every player arrives in Paris wearing different club colors, but many also carry the hopes of their local communities and the growing EA Sports FC scenes back home.
Together, they show that MENA’s EA Sports FC story is no longer defined by one player or one country, but by a diverse group of competitors helping shape the region’s future on the international stage.
For many of those players, qualifying for Paris represents not only a personal milestone but also another step forward for football esports across the region. Their presence reflects the continued growth of local talent pathways and demonstrates that MENA competitors are increasingly becoming regular contenders on the international stage.
More than the final result
This year’s title was ultimately lifted by Romania’s Razvan “RvPLegend” Puiu, in a fitting climax to the final World Championship of the EA Sports FC 26 season. But the significance of Paris, for MENA, was never measured by a single trophy.
Their journeys — years of practice, perseverance and personal sacrifice — reflect the growth of EA SPORTS FC across the region and the arrival of a new generation ready to compete on the biggest stage in the game.
The next chapter
The tournament represented far more than a competition, it highlighted the continued growth and global potential of MENA football esports.
Looking ahead, Msdossary believes the opportunities for future generations are greater than ever.
“My message to the next generation is simple: the future of esports is exciting. The opportunities are bigger, the support is stronger, and if you’re willing to put in the work, you can go a long way,” he said.
With the curtain now drawn on the EA SPORTS FC 26 season and FC 27 on the horizon, MENA closes one chapter with its strongest presence yet, and every reason to believe the next will be bigger still.
