RIYADH: The Black Gold Museum in Riyadh is offering visitors an immersive cultural experience as part of the Saudi Summer program.
Through contemporary art, the museum explores the impact of oil from artistic and human perspectives, highlighting its role in shaping civilizations, societies and global transformation over the decades.
The museum is the result of a partnership between the Ministry of Culture, represented by the Museums Commission, and the energy sector, represented by the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center.
The partnership promotes the museum sector, enriches the Kingdom’s cultural life and offers educational experiences that preserve heritage and promote dialogue.
The museum’s permanent collection features more than 350 modern and contemporary works by over 170 Saudi and international artists from more than 30 countries.
It also includes large-scale installations, photographs, historical documents, audiovisual displays and multimedia exhibits that highlight the cultural and social dimensions of the petroleum industry.
