Where We Are Going Today: Shrq Coffee Roasters in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province

On the east coast and want a shaded cafe that will brighten your day? Shrq Coffee Roasters have you covered.

Derived from the Arabic word for “east,” this Eastern Province staple — now a local chain with branches scattered all around the coast — rose in 2020. They offer the east side the best sides: there are savory and sweet snacks at the ready near the front of the eatery.

Upon the barista’s recommendation, I tried the Spanish latte which goes for SR18 ($5), but since it was a scorching summer day, I asked for it iced which was an additional SR2. It was decent for a SR20 drink. I also indulged in their Saudi cookie with Hasawi flavorings for SR8. It was a bit small for the price, but tasty.

As a nod to their name, they do indeed roast their coffee beans which you can purchase in bags to brew at home.

While each branch has its own decor and aura, and operating hours, the unified Shrq branding offers warm ambiance with intricate artwork adorned around, reminiscent of a cozy house.

With several local locations, including multiple in Aramco and Dammam, you will not have to drive far to pull up at one.
