Where We Are Going Today: ‘Golden Dragon’ – Chinese cuisine in Riyadh

  • The atmosphere feels authentically Chinese, adding to the experience and making diners feel transported beyond Riyadh

If you’re craving Chinese cuisine in Riyadh, Golden Dragon deserves a spot on your dining list. Owned and managed by Chinese proprietors, the restaurant delivers genuine flavors that are balanced, fresh, and never overpowering.

Everything during my visit hit the mark. The food was delicious and clearly prepared with care. The dishes are cooked fresh to order, and the quality is evident in every bite.

The standout dish for me was the beef noodles, which were rich, comforting, and packed with flavor. The restaurant offers generous servings that are ideal for sharing, making it a great choice for family gatherings or meals with friends.

During my visit, our bill came to around SR200 ($53), which felt reasonable considering the amount of food we ordered, the quality of the ingredients, and the generous portion sizes.

Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Although communication can be a little challenging if you only speak English, as the staff primarily speak Chinese and Arabic, their hospitality more than makes up for it.

One of the highlights of the visit was the kindness shown by the owners. Complimentary tea was served with the meal, and bottled water was provided free of charge.

These thoughtful gestures reflected a generosity that is increasingly rare and made the experience memorable.

The restaurant could improve its cleanliness standards in some areas, but the quality of the food, authentic flavors, generous portions, and exceptional hospitality far outweigh this concern.
