ALEPPO: The Syrian Arabic Republic’s President Ahmad Al-Sharaa on Wednesday performed Eid Al-Adha prayers at Abdallah bin Abbas Mosque in Aleppo, led by Sheikh Mutie Al-Batin, and accompanied by several state officials and a large number of worshippers.
In his sermon, Al-Batin said optimism was a fundamental value in Islam, a driving force for work and construction, and a refusal to yield to circumstances.
“Syria possesses significant potential for recovery and stability thanks to the unity of its people, the return of its citizens to participate in reconstruction, the strengthening of community initiatives, and the consolidation of the values of coexistence and diversity,” Al-Batin said.

He said that the return of young Syrians from abroad and displacement camps, to participate in the reconstruction of the country and launch volunteer and development initiatives, was indicative of the hope prevailing in the country.
Al-Batin said another source of optimism was the presence of leaders who listen to advice and embrace all Syrians, regardless of their opinions and affiliations.
Following the Eid prayer, Al-Sharaa received congratulations and blessings from worshippers.
He met with local dignitaries and community figures from the province.
President Al-Sharaa visited the Citadel of Aleppo on Wednesday, describing the city as central to Syria’s reconstruction and recovery efforts.
Writing in the register during the visit, the president said Aleppo “was the gateway to the liberation of all Syria” and “will be the gateway to its reconstruction and prosperity.”
He added: “It is an awe-inspiring feeling to stand before the greatness of history in Aleppo Al-Shahba.”
The visit formed part of the president’s Eid Al-Adha activities in Aleppo and highlighted the city’s role in Syria’s recovery and reconstruction efforts.
Aleppo Gov. Azzam Al-Gharib, Deputy Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Abdul Qader Tahhan and Damascus Gov. Maher Marwan Idlbi accompanied the president during the visit.
