KACST program accelerates tech commercialization

RIYADH: The Deep Tech Commercialization Bootcamp, organized by the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in partnership with the Research, Development and Innovation Authority, brings together more than 50 research teams with prototypes and technologies ready for testing and commercialization.

Being held at the innovation incubator and accelerator The Garage in Riyadh this week, the bootcamp aims to equip national research teams with the skills to commercialize deep technologies by aligning solutions with market needs and building business models.

It also strengthens understanding of intellectual property rights and patents as investment assets, while introducing technology transfer and licensing mechanisms.

The program features interactive sessions and hands-on workshops designed to increase the readiness of technology projects for commercial application.

It also focuses on developing presentation and communication skills, enabling participants to professionally showcase their innovations and enhance their appeal to investors.

The bootcamp is a part of KACST’s efforts to support the national research, development and innovation ecosystem and bridge the gap between research institutions, the private sector, and investment environment.
