First Street Burgers is rarely spotted without a line around the block in the Narjis neighborhood of Riyadh. Best known for its smash burgers, the restaurant blew up on TikTok where many praised the flavors of its burgers and fries as unique from other burger spots in the Kingdom. If you like a brief menu with simple yet high quality items, it’s worth a visit.
The aesthetic is classic American, with a bar at which to place your orders in front of the kitchen, as well as high rise stools and retro-style lighting. The restaurant has definitely embraced a west-coast ambience.
Seating options can be limited, but once the order is placed, the service is quick.
I decided to give their most viral options a try: First Street Burger and First Street fries. The burger, the priciest on the menu, costs SR 42, while the fries went for SR 24.
The burgers were served with the top open, showing the colorful ingredients placed on the two beef patties: American cheese, First Street Sauce, fresh onions, pickles, mustard, and ketchup on a potato roll.
The fries were garnished with cheese sauce, grilled onions, BBQ ranch bacon, First Street sauce, and jalapenos.
For those who love a flavorful spin on classic burgers and fries, the First Street options are a lovely change from the originals. The burger was also made unique by the smash patties’ crispy edges — a signature of the restaurant regardless of what burger you choose.
The Class burger offers a safer flavor profile for those hoping to stick to the classics, with toppings including American cheese, First Street Sauce, grilled onions, and pickles. It can be paired with their classic, crispy fries.
For those wanting a flavor intensity somewhere in the middle, the old-school burger and cheese fries are a perfect middle-ground. The burger, which costs SR 32, includes American cheese, First Street sauce, fresh onions, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. The cheese fries cost SR 16.
Overall, First Street Burgers is definitely worth a visit. Many online fans have called it their favorite burger spot in Riyadh. However, due to the menu’s limited options, those who prefer chicken or vegan burgers may not be satisfied. Additionally, I would advise giving the restaurant a go on a weekday to avoid the long lines and crowds.
