MAKKAH: Security forces continue operations to prevent individuals without Hajj permits from entering or staying in Makkah and the holy sites, warning that violators and facilitators will face arrest and legal penalties.
Security patrols in Makkah recently arrested six Indonesian residents for fraud after posting fake Hajj service ads on social media. Fake permits and related tools were also found in their possession.
In another case, Hajj security forces arrested two citizens for violating regulations by transporting 17 Pakistani residents via unpaved roads and valleys in an attempt to enter Makkah without permits.
Makkah police also arrested a citizen for posting fraudulent ads on social media offering fake entry permits to Makkah.
Legal action was taken, and all individuals were referred to the Public Prosecution.
The General Directorate of Public Security urged citizens and residents to follow Hajj regulations and report violators by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, Madinah and the Eastern Province, or 999 elsewhere in the Kingdom.
