NEW YORK: Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the UN, participated in an event held on the sidelines of the 59th session of the United Nations Commission on Population and Development.
He stressed the importance of empowering older people and recognizing their vital role in achieving sustainable development goals, calling for enhancing their participation across various fields and benefiting from their accumulated expertise.
He highlighted the importance of boosting international cooperation to address shared challenges, highlighting the Kingdom’s initiative to facilitate the exchange of expertise and enhance joint work among countries.
The ambassador also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting comprehensive policies that promote sustainable development and keep pace with demographic shifts, achieving balance among different age groups and enhancing quality of life.
