Google launches first Gemini Student Ambassador program in Saudi Arabia

  • Selected ambassadors will run missions and facilitate on-campus workshops, sharing feedback directly with Google’s product teams in exchange for mentorship, training sessions
  • Saudi initiative marks first rollout in the Arab world and applications are open until April 18

LONDON: Google has launched its Gemini Student Ambassador program in Saudi Arabia for the first time, opening applications for a seven-month initiative aimed at building a campus network of AI advocates across the Kingdom’s universities.

The program, open to students of all majors, is designed for those “enthusiastic about AI developments in the region and beyond” and willing to lead peer education activities on campus.

Selected ambassadors will run weekly missions and facilitate on-campus workshops, sharing feedback directly with Google’s product teams.

In return, they will receive mentorship from Google staff, exclusive invitations to events and training sessions, a Google-issued certification and Gemini merchandise.

The program has previously been run in Indonesia, South Korea and India, where Google launched successive cohorts in 2025 and 2026, recruiting campus ambassadors to lead AI workshops and drive Gemini adoption across universities.

The Saudi Arabia program marks its first standalone rollout in the Arab world and adds to a growing portfolio of Google AI initiatives targeting students in the MENA region.

In October 2025, Google made its AI Pro Plan — which includes Gemini 2.5 Pro, Deep Research and NotebookLM — available free of charge for one year to university students aged 18 and above across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Google also has a long history of campus outreach in the region, having run a broader Google Student Ambassador program across MENA as far back as 2011.

Applications are open until April 18 via Google’s website.
