RIYADH: Syria’s Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed Al-Saleh has praised the wide-ranging humanitarian and development programs delivered by Saudi aid agency KSrelief, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
During a visit to KSrelief’s headquarters in Riyadh on Wednesday as part of his official trip to the Kingdom, Al-Saleh expressed gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for continued humanitarian support to the Syrian people.
KSrelief’s work in Syria spans multiple sectors, he said, combining emergency relief with longer-term development initiatives aimed at improving living conditions and supporting recovery.
Al-Saley highlighted a voluntary medical program for cochlear implants and auditory rehabilitation that has helped around 1,500 children regain their hearing, opening up new education and integration possibilities. He said such initiatives demonstrated a tangible shift from emergency response toward sustainable development in Syria.
Established in 2015, KSrelief serves as Saudi Arabia’s primary humanitarian arm, implementing relief and development projects in dozens of countries with a focus on crisis response, health, food security and capacity-building programs.
Al-Saleh’s visit reflects ongoing coordination between Saudi Arabia and Syria on humanitarian issues, as well as efforts to strengthen cooperation in disaster response and recovery.
