GCC secretary general receives Cyprus ambassador to Saudi Arabia

RIYADH: Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi received Charis Moritsis, ambassador of Cyprus to the Kingdom at the General Secretariat’s headquarters in Riyadh on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the Iranian aggressions targeting GCC states and reviewed “the implications of the dangerous escalation currently witnessed in the region, highlighting the direct threat it poses to regional and international security and stability,” the General Secretariat said in a statement.

Al-Budaiwi praised the efforts of Cyprus during its current presidency of the European Union in enhancing dialogue and partnership between the GCC and the EU.

The meeting also addressed GCC-Cypriot and GCC-European relations and ways to develop and bolster them to achieve mutual interests.
