RIYADH: The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, in cooperation with the World Bank, is holding an international workshop in Washington titled “Towards the Future: AI Governance and International Cooperation.”
Featuring the participation of global experts, international organizations, and government entities, the five-day initiative runs until April 10, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The workshop aims to advance AI governance, review global best practices, and explore mechanisms for developing international cooperation frameworks.
It contributes to shaping policies that ensure the responsible use of emerging technologies and support a secure, trusted digital ecosystem aligned with Sustainable Development Goals.
Discussions also cover multilateral cooperation, alignment of global frameworks with national policies, and anticipating challenges linked to rapid AI advances.
The Saudi authority, in collaboration with the Digital Government Authority and the World Bank, is also organizing a Saudi Day event.
The event will showcase the Kingdom’s model in adopting advanced AI technologies and highlight success stories in leveraging data and AI across sectors.
It will also look at national initiatives and advanced digital infrastructure, and their role in enhancing government efficiency and quality of life.
The workshop builds on the strategic partnership between the Saudi authority and the World Bank and reflects the Kingdom’s role in advancing global dialogue on the future of AI through knowledge exchange and stronger partnerships.
It forms part of the Kingdom’s Year of Artificial Intelligence, reinforcing its position as a global technology leader, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
