Thunderstorms expected across Saudi Arabia until Friday

  • Light to moderate rain is expected in Riyadh, Al-Muzahimiyah, Dhurma, Shaqra, Thadiq, Huraymila, Diriyah, Ramah, Hawtat Bani Tamim, Al-Hariq, Al-Kharj, Al-Zulfi, and other affiliated governorates

RIYADH: The General Directorate of Civil Defense urged the public to exercise caution, remain in safe locations, and avoid areas prone to flash floods and valleys, following instructions disseminated across media platforms, due to expected thunderstorms continuing across most of the Kingdom through Friday.

The directorate provided a regional breakdown of the weather forecast, with moderate to heavy rainfall expected in the Makkah region, which could lead to flash floods, hail, and dust storms, affecting Taif, Maysan, Adham, Al-Ardiyat, and Turbah.

Light to moderate rain is also expected in Riyadh, Al-Muzahimiyah, Dhurma, Shaqra, Thadiq, Huraymila, Diriyah, Ramah, Hawtat Bani Tamim, Al-Hariq, Al-Kharj, Al-Zulfi, and other affiliated governorates.

Additionally, the Baha, Asir, Jazan, and Najran regions will be affected by moderate to heavy rainfall, which could lead to flash floods, hail, and dust storms, while light to moderate rain is expected in Qassim, Hail, Tabuk, Jouf, the Northern Borders, and the Eastern regions.
