JENIN: Israeli forces carried out raids early on Friday in several towns in Jenin governorate, north of the West Bank. Local sources reported that troops stormed the town of Silat Al-Harithiya west of Jenin city, searching a house, and also raided the village of Kufeirit, inspecting multiple homes, and a house in the village of Aba.
The army additionally entered the Jabal Abu Dahair neighborhood and the eastern quarter of Jenin city, deploying military vehicles throughout the streets.
Israeli forces detained a photographer on Friday in the town of Rummaneh, west of Jenin.
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society reported that the photographer, Tareq Ghaleb Subeihat, was detained after Israeli forces raided his home, under the pretext of using a drone in his works.
The forces also detained two Palestinians on Friday while dispersing worshippers performing Friday prayers in neighborhoods of occupied Jerusalem.
According to the Jerusalem Governorate, Israeli forces detained Ali Jabarin after delivering a Friday sermon in the Al-Musrara area, and Muneeb Abu Tir after he left prayers at Saad and Saeed Mosque near Damascus Gate.
The detentions come as Palestinians in Jerusalem have been holding Friday prayers in the streets and areas surrounding the Old City, following the continued closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque which has prevented worshippers from accessing the site.
