Kings League remains committed to MENA region despite postponement

  • Originally scheduled for May 2026, Kings League MENA Split 1 will now take place in October

RIYADH: Kings League MENA Split 1, originally scheduled to take place in Riyadh between March and May 2026, has been postponed until October 2026.

Created under a joint venture between with Surj Sports Investment, Kings League MENA is a new football experience for hundreds of millions of fans across the region. The concept, pioneered by former Barcelona and Spain star Gerard Pique, reimagines the rules of the game and is centered on a competitive league with teams presided over by the region’s best streamers and content creators.

Kings League CEO Djamel Agaoua said: “Following discussions with our partners and stakeholders, we determined that postponing Kings League MENA Split 1 until October 2026 is the most responsible course of action at this time. We remain fully committed to the region and are focused on returning with a strong and exciting league experience for our teams, creators, and fans.”

After the highly successful Kings Cup MENA tournament in October–November 2025, Kings League MENA will return to Riyadh this October to stage a full league split for the first time.

Once again, the region’s biggest content creators and streamers will take control of elite seven-a-side teams, streaming all the action live and free under Kings League’s unique, gamified rules.

In the meantime, Kings League will continue working on new Kings League MENA content and activities to keep fans engaged, with further updates to be announced in due course.
