LONDON: The Royal Jordanian Air Force said on Thursday it had intercepted another wave of Iranian attacks, destroying three missiles that targeted the country as Tehran continues to strike neighboring countries in response to the military campaign launched by the US and Israel against Iran almost a month ago.
The Public Security Directorate said it responded to 17 reports of falling shrapnel and projectiles in the past 24 hours. No injuries were reported by authorities on Thursday, according to the Jordan News Agency.
On Wednesday, Mohammed Momani, the minister of government communication and government spokesperson, said security forces had dealt with at least 255 Iranian missiles, drones and other projectiles that have targeted Jordan since Feb. 28.
He condemned the attacks and said it was “unacceptable and shameful” for anyone to support Iran during its aggression against Jordan.
“The entire world and Iran know that Jordan has never been a launching pad for aggression against any country,” Momani said.
“We view the Iranian aggression as condemned and brutal, and our armed forces and air defenses continue to defend every inch of our Jordanian territory.”
