RIYADH: A series of cultural and heritage events at the historic King Abdulaziz Palace in Qibah, Qassim, has been launched by the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve Development Authority, in collaboration with the Heritage Commission.
The activities, which run until March 27, aim to revitalize the palace as a vibrant cultural platform and strengthen the community’s connection to Saudi national identity, Saudi Press Agency reported.
A daily program from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. includes live folk-art performances, such as the Saudi Ardah, along with interactive experiences for all age groups.
Outdoor children’s areas offer educational and recreational activities designed to preserve cultural values, and visitors can also explore archaeological artifacts that reflect the region’s social and economic history.
The events offer a platform for families engaged in cottage industries and artisans to highlight traditional handicrafts, supporting local economies and putting rich regional heritage in the spotlight.
The authority says using King Abdulaziz Palace in Qibah is part of its strategy to highlight historical sites. The aim is to transform them into active cultural and tourist destinations that promote engagement and strengthen national identity, in coordination with relevant authorities.
