Tucked away in Al-Nakheel area of the capital, Smoky Seal is a spot for diners seeking barbecue with a distinctive Arabian twist.

Known for its low-and-slow cooking methods, the restaurant focuses on smoked meats that develop deep, rich flavors over time.

The menu blends traditional barbecue techniques with regional ingredients, offering dishes such as smoked camel meat alongside lamb and chicken.

Many of the plates are paired with fragrant smoked rice, which complements the bold flavors of the meats and adds a comforting touch to the meal.

There are plenty of hearty options to explore. Signature mains include the smoked lamb and dishes such as the pineapple show, while sandwich lovers can choose from items such as the black and white sandwich or the smoky chunk.

During my visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of assistance provided by the staff. One team member took the time to walk me through the extensive menu, offering thoughtful recommendations and answering questions about the smoked specialties.

Eventually we decided to try the chicken dish, and it exceeded expectations. The chicken was cooked perfectly — tender, juicy and full of flavor. It came with fries, vegetables and a piece of corn, which added a satisfying variety of textures and tastes.

The atmosphere was another highlight. The restaurant has a warm, inviting vibe that makes it a comfortable place to settle in for a relaxed meal with friends or family. Despite the bustling environment, the service was quick and efficient, and our order arrived promptly.

What stood out most, however, was the quality of the meat. It was incredibly tender — almost melting in the mouth — and paired well with the salads, rice and drinks offered on the menu.

Overall, Smoky Seal delivers a memorable dining experience with flavorful smoked meats, generous portions and attentive service.

For barbecue fans in Riyadh looking to try something a little different — especially dishes like smoked camel — this Al-Nakheel spot is well worth a visit.
