ANKARA: Turkiye’s defense ministry on Monday said it had deployed six F-16 fighter jets to Northern Cyprus as a security measure, days after the island was targeted by a drone attack.
“In light of recent developments in our region, six F-16 fighter aircraft and air defense systems have been deployed to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as of today,” it said in a statement, referring to a territory which is only recognized by Ankara.
