RIYADH: During inspection campaigns across Saudi Arabia between Dec. 11-17, the Saudi Ministry of Interior recorded 17,880 violations, including 11,190 related to residency, 3,801 to border security, and 2,889 to labor laws.
These inspections are aimed at ensuring compliance with residency, labor, and border security laws in the Kingdom.
Border authorities apprehended 1,509 individuals attempting to cross into the Kingdom illegally, of whom 44 percent were Yemenis and 55 percent Ethiopians. They also arrested 40 people for attempting to leave the Kingdom illegally.
A further 15 people involved in transporting, sheltering, and employing violators were arrested.
A total of 29,771 expatriates, including 28,198 men and 1,573 women, are currently undergoing procedures to enforce regulations.
Meanwhile, 20,282 individuals were detained for violating the regulations and were instructed to contact their countries’ embassies or consulates to obtain proper travel documents.
In addition, 5,080 were advised to make travel arrangements, and 12,661 were repatriated.
