JAKARTA: The opening address at Indonesia’s Interfaith Harmony Conference, hosted by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs in Jakarta, was delivered by Muslim World League Secretary-General Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa.
The speech highlighted the importance of holding such conferences and the focus on themes such as promoting coexistence and cooperation when confronting theories of religious conflict, as well as their impact on diverse societies and global peace.
Al-Issa said that throughout human history, many unjust wars appeared rooted in false narratives.
Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar was among those attending the event, along with other religious and parliamentary leaders from various faiths.
The conference included presentations from religious representatives in Indonesia, each outlining their faith’s teachings related to social harmony.
