LONDON: Billie Eilish has been crowned Saudi Arabia’s most-streamed artist of 2025 in Spotify’s annual Wrapped feature, displacing Taylor Swift from the top spot after two consecutive years.
The American singer-songwriter, whose critically acclaimed third studio album “Hit Me Hard and Soft” was released in 2024, leads the Kingdom’s top 10 artists, followed by The Weeknd, Drake, Taylor Swift, Cigarettes After Sex, Kendrick Lamar and Travis Scott — who performed at Riyadh’s MDLBEAST Soundstorm festival in December 2023.
Rounding out the list are Lana Del Rey, Saudi singer Ayed — the first Arab artist in the ranking — and Lady Gaga.
Spotify Wrapped, the platform’s year-end showcase of the most popular artists, songs, albums and podcasts in each country, began rolling out to users worldwide on Wednesday.
The feature also provides personalized listening summaries based on individual activity over the past year.
Globally, Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny claimed the top spot, followed by Taylor Swift and The Weeknd — mirroring Saudi trends closely.
Among Arab artists, Ayed led the Kingdom’s rankings, followed by Egyptian icon Amr Diab and tarab legend Abdul Majeed Abdullah.
“Nostalgia, romance and emotional storytelling defined Saudi Arabia’s music taste in 2025,” Spotify said, naming Sabah Mahmoud’s 2011 track “Aftini” the top Arab song and fifth overall.
Eilish dominated the Kingdom’s top songs chart with “Wildflower” at No. 1 and “Birds of a Feather” at No. 2, followed by The Marias’ “No One Noticed.”
Spotify introduced several updates to Wrapped 2025, including refreshed features like Top Genres and Top Song Quiz, plus new additions such as listening age, top albums, fan leaderboards and Wrapped Party — a new interactive feature that turns users’ listening data into a live competition that can be played with friends.
