Netanyahu invited to White House in ‘near future’: Israeli PM’s office

JERUSALEM: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was invited by US President Donald Trump to visit the White House “in the near future” during a phone call on Monday, his office said.
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this evening, spoke with US President Donald Trump,” the premier’s office said in a statement. “Trump has invited Prime Minister Netanyahu to a meeting at the White House in the near future.”
“The two leaders stressed the importance and obligation of disarming Hamas and demilitarising the Gaza Strip, and discussed expanding the peace agreements,” Netanyahu’s office said.

Police officer killed, 24 people injured in bombs explosions in Ukraine’s Lviv

KYIV: One police officer was killed and ​24 other people were injured after several explosive devices detonated at midnight in ‌Lviv in ‌western ​Ukraine, ‌the ⁠National Police ​said on ⁠Sunday.
“It has been preliminarily established that homemade explosive devices detonated,” the ⁠police said on ‌the ‌Telegram messaging service.
The ​police ‌said that ‌the first explosion occurred after a patrol crew arrived at ‌the suspected scene of a ⁠shop ⁠break-in, while the second explosion occurred a little later.
The mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, called the incident a terrorist ​act.
