Hail sees $426m boost in healthcare with 37 new projects

  • New hospitals, upgraded clinics, and community health initiatives mark a milestone in Saudi Arabia’s health transformation

RIYADH: Hail Gov. Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad and Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel inaugurated 37 new healthcare projects in the Hail region, representing investments exceeding SR1.6 billion ($426 million).

The initiative marks a major milestone in advancing the Kingdom’s Health Sector Transformation Program under Vision 2030, according to a ministry press release.

Prince Abdulaziz reaffirmed the region’s commitment to expanding access to healthcare and improving service quality, noting that the newly launched projects reflect the government’s sustained investment in strengthening the Kingdom’s health infrastructure.

The developments include the opening of Hail General Hospital, several Saudi Red Crescent Authority projects, and major upgrades such as expanded endoscopy services, enhanced pediatric intensive care, and improvements to the Diabetic Foot Center at King Khalid Hospital.

Moqaq General Hospital also benefited from upgraded dental clinics, along with the inauguration of a new primary healthcare center under the Hail Health Cluster.

The visit also saw the unveiling of eight community-led health initiatives, ranging from establishing a medical rehabilitation center and installing a cardiac catheterization unit to launching a new dialysis center, deploying a CT scanner, and upgrading endoscopy units at King Salman Hospital.

A pediatric dialysis unit was also inaugurated, and an Employee Excellence Award was launched to recognize outstanding healthcare professionals.

The private sector played a significant role, contributing to nine additional healthcare projects through partnerships with Zamzam Medical Group, Nerve Solutions, Saudi German Hospital, Reyadah Health, Takhasus Medical Group, Gheima Medical, Etqan, and Lemon Medical Group.

The ministry said these projects underscore the Kingdom’s continued commitment to expanding healthcare capacity, elevating care quality, and strengthening private-sector engagement — key pillars driving Saudi Arabia’s long-term health transformation.

Meanwhile, Prince Abdulaziz also inaugurated the Hail International Lifestyle Medicine Conference on Sunday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

In his address, Al-Jalajel said that promoting public health, prevention, and enhancing quality of life remain among the ministry’s top priorities.

He also praised ongoing development in the Hail region, noting that it mirrors progress across the Kingdom, thanks to the leadership's support, the SPA added.

Following the official opening, presentations highlighted events taking place in multiple regions of the Kingdom alongside the conference, all aimed at fostering healthy behaviors within the community.
