Ancient Kingdoms Festival dazzles visitors with AlUla’s timeless heritage

RIYADH: The Ancient Kingdoms Festival in AlUla continues with cultural programs and immersive experiences that reconnect visitors with the region’s ancient heritage through multisensory storytelling. 

Visitors enjoy activities inspired by historic trade routes, blending traditional market narratives with the aromas and flavors of the past to reflect AlUla’s rich cultural depth, according to a Saudi Press Agency report. 

The festival, held across various archeological sites in AlUla until Dec. 6, celebrates more than 7,000 years of civilization. 

Themed “Journeys Through Time,” it spans the Dadan, Lihyan, and Nabataean civilizations, extending into the modern era. 

HIGHLIGHT

Key attractions include the Hegra After Dark experience at Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring light shows and projections showcasing the Nabataean civilization.

Key attractions include the Hegra After Dark experience at Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring light shows and projections showcasing the Nabataean civilization, and the Stories from the Sky drone show, with hundreds of drones creating a striking visual display. 

Additional experiences include exploring ancient inscriptions at Jabal Ikmah, activities in the Old Town, guided walks through Hegra’s geological landmarks, and children’s tours, offering enriching discovery for all ages. 

Events across multiple sites feature family-friendly programs such as educational workshops, historical storytelling, and exploration trips highlighting AlUla’s natural heritage and ancient ways of life.
