RIYADH: The Saudi eLeague Championship, organized by the Saudi Esports Federation, saw champions crowned in three major titles.
The SEL Championship is the grand finale of the Saudi eLeague season and, in its third week, saw the conclusion of tournaments Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Overwatch 2, and Dota 2.
In Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, it was a near-flawless display from Team Falcons, who secured back-to-back 2-0 victories over Stallions and Twisted Minds before a dominant display in the grand finale, where they emerged victorious with a 3-1 win over Geekay Esports. After delivering elite performances throughout the tournament, Team Falcons player Saano was named the tournament MVP for his key role in the team’s impressive victory.
In Dota 2, Rafha Esports were unable to secure a stunning redemption arc as they came up short — twice — against the tournament champions, Twisted Minds. Facing off in the Winners Final, Twisted Minds defeated Rafha Esports 2-1, sending them to the Losers Final to face off against Zntrx. Coming off a 2-0 win, Rafha Esports had the chance to get revenge in the grand finale but could not overcome Twisted Minds, who secured a commanding 3-1 victory, with Twisted Minds player This Too Shall Pass named as the tournament MVP.
In Overwatch 2, Twisted Minds once again demonstrated the strength of their roster as they overcame Zntrx 2-0 and Al-Qadsiah 3-1 to progress to the final. Making it three victories from three, Twisted Minds faced a resurgent Al-Qadsiah in the final, who got a second chance after a 3-0 victory over Zntrx in the Losers Final. But it was Twisted Minds that reigned supreme again with a 4-2 victory in the grand finale. In recognition of his exceptional skill throughout the tournament, Twisted Minds player Simple was named MVP.
“The SEL Championship is continuing to deliver gripping entertainment as our talented roster of top-tier talent goes head-to-head to end their season on a high,” said Abdullah Al-Nasser, head of product at SEF. “Already, seven tournaments have been contested, and the fans in SEF Arena have provided an electric atmosphere as our new champions demonstrated why they are the best of the best. With great anticipation, we look forward to the final week of action as this incredible tournament comes to a dramatic climax.”
The SEL Championship features elite competition across 11 major game titles, including eFootball, PUBG Mobile, League of Legends, Rocket League, Dota 2, Counter Strike 2, Overwatch 2, Call of Duty: Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Rainbow Six: Siege, and Valorant.
