SEL Championship delivers high-stakes drama and elite competition in opening tournaments

RIYADH: The Saudi eLeague Championship, organized by the Saudi Esports Federation, has concluded the first of three weeks of competition at SEF Arena ahead of the season’s grand finale.

In the first week, four highly competitive tournaments came to a climax in PUBG Mobile, Rocket League, League of Legends and eFootball.

In the PUBG Mobile tournament, R8 Esports secured victory after scoring a total of 140 points across two days, seeing off close competition from POWR and Stallions Esports, who earned total point tallies of 115 and 105, respectively. R8 Esports secured a total of four wins across the tournament and secured 86 kills, outperforming the roster with consistent and devastating teamwork from team members R8SKTON, R8PRESTLGE, R8xiD7, R8xiDAMAR, R8XMarth, and R8AMOORI.

In League of Legends, BAAM Esports battled to victory in the Grand Final over Xo Esports, with team members BAM handm, BAM Azzam, BAM B0zaH, BAM CHALEED, BAM Nio and BAM Anonymouss, banding together to deliver a 3-2 victory.

In Rocket League, former Team Falcons player TRK made his tournament debut for Twisted Minds, with the two Saudi rivals eventually going head-to-head in the final. Twisted Minds emerged victorious with a score of 4-1, with TRK who was named MVP for the tournament following outstanding performances throughout his new team’s tournament run.

In eFootball, it was Al-Qadsiah Esports’ FigoX94 who secured first place in the tournament after a 2-0 victory in the Grand Final over Team Falcons’ GOAT_Iniesta. Team Falcons’ GOAT_Iniesta secured second place overall in the tournament, with Qilwah Club’s Ahlawy_12 finishing in third place.

“The opening rounds of the SEL Championship have lived up to our high expectations, delivering incredibly competitive matchups and exciting moments of close competition from our highly talented roster of Saudi esports athletes,” said Abdullah Al-Nasser, head of product at the Saudi Esports Federation.

“We congratulate our first champions of the tournament and look forward with great excitement to all the upcoming tournaments taking place over the next two weeks as the 2025 season comes to a close.”

The SEL Championship features elite competition across 11 major game titles, including eFootball, PUBG Mobile, League of Legends, Rocket League, Dota 2, Counter Strike 2, Overwatch 2, Call of Duty: Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Rainbow Six: Siege, and Valorant.
