Saudi, Indian ministers discuss strengthening cultural ties

RIYADH: Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan met Indian Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in Riyadh on Sunday.

Held on the sidelines of the 26th session of the UN Tourism General Assembly, the meeting discussed ways to strengthen cultural cooperation across various fields.

Shekhawat also held bilateral talks with tourism ministers from Sri Lanka, the Maldives and South Africa during the event.

In a post on X, he said India continues to expand tourism cooperation and cultural partnerships worldwide.

Shekhawat also attended a dinner hosted by Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb for ministers taking part in the UN event.

The Indian minister said: “Grateful for the warm hospitality and the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions on advancing global tourism cooperation.”
