Taif governor inspects Miqats of Ihram to ensure pilgrims’ safety, convenience

RIYADH: Taif governor Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Abdulaziz visited the Miqats of Ihram and various security checkpoints in the governorate on Sunday, reported the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The visit was an evaluation of services to ensure the safety and convenience of Hajj pilgrims this year.

The governor also visited the Miqat of Qarn Al-Manazil in As Sail Al-Kabir where he inspected the security checkpoints and was briefed on the technology used for monitoring and handling violations of Hajj permits and related procedures.

He also met several pilgrims at the Wadi Mehrim Miqat on the Al-Hada road, and urged all Hajj workers to ensure the pilgrims’ travel went smoothly.

LONDON: Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and the Palestinian prime minister, Mohammed Mustafa, on Tuesday discussed the latest developments in Gaza.

During their meeting, which took place at the annual gathering of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, they also reviewed bilateral relations and cooperation, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Other Saudi officials present at the meeting included the Kingdom’s ambassador to Switzerland, Abdulrahman Al-Dawood; the director general of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed Al-Ismail; and Mohammed Alyahya, an advisor to the foreign minister.
