Saudi Border Guard arrest 4 attempting to smuggle qat

JAZAN: The Kingdom’s Border Guard in Al-Ardah, Jazan, recently arrested four Yemeni nationals attempting to smuggle 80 kg of qat into the country, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday.

Mostly chewed by users, Qat is a mild stimulant and illegal across most of the Arab world.

The government has urged citizens and residents to report any information they have regarding drug smuggling or sales to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control. Reports can be made by calling 911 for Makkah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, and 999 for other regions. Alternatively, information can be emailed to [email protected]. All reports are treated confidentially.

Program to train national talent in generative AI

RIYADH: The SDAIA Academy opened registration for its Professional Training in Large Language Models program, aiming to equip national talent with advanced skills in building and customizing generative artificial intelligence models and developing innovative AI-driven solutions.

The program provides trainees with hands-on experience in developing and training language models, enabling them to build sophisticated applications and enhance their AI proficiency.

It also supports participants’ career growth by helping them obtain professional certifications from NVIDIA, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.

Participants are prepared to take the NVIDIA-Certified Associate: Generative AI LLMs exam through specialized training content. The four-week program targets professionals and individuals interested in generative AI.

The academy reaffirmed its commitment to offering high-quality training that develops national capabilities and advances the Kingdom’s goal of building a leading AI knowledge ecosystem.
