MADINAH, 27 March 2004 — Tarek Al-Sulaimani has assumed charge as the general manager at the InterContinental Dar Al Taqwa, Madinah. He was previously the hotel’s manager. The hotel is one of 21 properties managed by the InterContinental Hotels Group in Saudi Arabia. Al-Sulaimani has held senior positions with many of the InterContinental Hotels Group properties in the Kingdom over his 17-year career with the company. He was also the first Saudi national to take up a general manager’s position for Holiday Inn. In 1996 he was awarded the General Manager of the Year award by Holiday inn Worldwide.
