AlUla Tour 2024 begins on Tuesday

Tuesday sees the launch of the fourth AlUla Tour cycling races.

The event, which is taking place until Feb. 3, is organized by the Ministry of Sport and the Royal Commission for AlUla, in coordination with the Saudi and the International Cycling Federation.

Some 18 teams from around the world will be participating in the event, including nine UCI WorldTeams: Astana (Kazakhstan); Bahrain Victorious (Bahrain); Bora-Hansgrohe (Germany); Cofidis (France); Movistar Team (Spain); Team BikeExchange (Australia); Team DSM (Netherlands); Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team (Belgium); and UAE Team Emirates (the UAE).

In addition, there are five UCI ProTeams and four additional outfits partaking in the event, which include the Saudi National Team (Saudi Arabia); JCL Team Ukyo (Japan); Roojai Online Insurance (Thailand); and Terengganu Polygon Cycling Team (Malaysia).

The races consist of five stages. Stage one is to and from Al-Manshiya Train Station (149.1 km); stage two from Winter Park to Sharaan Nature Reserve (199.1 km); stage three from AlUla International Airport to AlUla Camel Cup track (170.6 km); stage four from Hegra to Maraya (142.2 km); and stage five from AlUla Old Town to Skyviews of Harrat Uwayrid (150.2 km).

The AlUla Tour is one of the initiatives of the Quality of Life Program, which aims to improve the lives of families and individuals by providing supportive environments that offer diverse and new options in cultural, entertainment, sports, and other activities.

Riyadh set for historic WWE Royal Rumble

  • The KAFD spectacle on Jan. 31 will be the first time the event has taken place outside North America

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia is gearing up for one of the biggest sports entertainment moments of the decade as WWE returns to Riyadh on Jan. 31 with Royal Rumble.

It will be the first time the event, set to take place at a new, purpose-built venue in King Abdullah Financial District, has been held outside North America.

A blockbuster lineup of WWE Superstars are expected to take part, including Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar. They are set to be joined by fan favorites Jey Uso, Dominik Mysterio, Gunther and more.

Those who declare themselves for the 30-Man Royal Rumble match will fight for the opportunity to headline in a championship match at WrestleMania.

The Women’s Royal Rumble will include WWE Superstars such as Becky Lynch, Liv Morgan, Tiffany Stratton, Maxxine Dupri and Stephanie Vaquer.

Ahead of Royal Rumble, Riyadh will also host WWE SmackDown on Friday, Jan. 30.
