RIYADH: The Discover Asir platform has been ranked among the world’s top 10 websites for foodies seeking culinary experiences in 2026, according to the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism, and based on an evaluation by an international panel of experts.
Asir Development Authority said that the website, which was developed with support and contributions from King Khalid University and the Culinary Arts Commission, had earned its place on the global list for its content showcasing the region’s culinary experiences, supported by rich visual media and services that allowed users to browse and book experiences.
Discover Asir is the only Saudi and Arab website included on the list, which also features websites from Ecuador, France, Spain and several other European countries.
The ranking follows Asir’s recognition in 2024 as the World Region of Gastronomy by IGCAT, which made it the first area outside Europe to receive the title.
Asir Development Authority believes the recognition will strengthen the region’s presence on the global tourism map and raise awareness of its tourism, culinary, and cultural offerings.
The inclusion of the Discover Asir platform in the global ranking reflects the growing international presence of the region’s digital tourism content.
The platform brings together destinations, events, restaurants, hotels, and tourism experiences in one place, making it easier for visitors to explore available options and plan their trips, the authority says.
The achievement also builds on efforts to showcase Asir region’s tourism, cultural, and culinary assets and strengthen its position on the global tourism map, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
