NEOM unveils eco-luxury resort Zardun

  • Zardun will host three distinct boutique hotels, comprising a total of 100 rooms and suites

RIYADH: NEOM has unveiled its latest project, Zardun, a sanctuary resort designed to elevate luxury tourism in Saudi Arabia. Situated on the Gulf of Aqaba, Zardun is another addition to the array of coastal developments in the NEOM region.

The resort will feature four ultra-luxury buildings, each designed to blend with the natural environment. Spanning 4 sq km, Zardun is set to be a revitalized natural haven, rich in indigenous flora and fauna, stretching from the mountains to the seashore. A highlight for visitors will be the state-of-the-art experience center, complete with a 360-degree observation deck, offering views of the area’s landscapes.

Zardun will host three distinct boutique hotels, comprising a total of 100 rooms and suites. This accommodation is designed with sustainability in mind, harmonizing with the surrounding ecosystem. Each hotel will boast a distinctive theme, providing guests with diverse experiences — from valley to ocean views.

The resort will offer a range of activities including trekking, mountain biking, rock climbing, as well as wellness and relaxation pursuits such as stargazing, meditation and yoga. Additionally, Zardun will engage guests in educational programs focusing on nature protection, conservation and re-wilding.

A key aspect of Zardun’s sustainability strategy involves creating oases and supporting marine life conservation, including the coral reefs in the Gulf of Aqaba.

As the latest development announced by NEOM, Zardun joins other projects such as Leyja, Epicon, Siranna, Utamo, Norlana and Aquellum in advancing sustainable tourism in the Gulf of Aqaba region, underscoring NEOM’s commitment to sustainable development.

Over 17,000 inspections conducted in Madinah ahead of Ramadan

  • Ongoing operational plan involves more than 5,700 personnel, supported by over 1,230 pieces of equipment and machinery
  • Work is focusing on health and commercial inspection tours - raising compliance levels with regulatory requirements

RIYADH: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the Madinah Regional Municipality, has intensified field and operational preparations to improve service readiness and ensure uninterrupted services for visitors to the holy city during Ramadan, which began Wednesday.

The ongoing operational plan involves more than 5,700 personnel, supported by over 1,230 pieces of equipment and machinery, reflecting the scale of the preparations and the municipality’s capacity to manage the expected crowds and increased activity.

The work is focusing on health and commercial inspection tours, raising compliance levels with regulatory requirements, and boosting oversight of activities related to public health and food safety to ensure a safe and healthy environment, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

The ministry has conducted more than 13,000 inspections targeting health-related activities and nearly 4,000 covering commercial activities.

In addition, 8,000 food and water samples are being collected to verify compliance with approved health standards, as part of an integrated inspection system based on precise performance indicators.

The ministry has enhanced the readiness of emergency teams by implementing 12 alternative plans to ensure rapid response to emergencies and the continued efficient delivery of municipal services during peak times through its executive arm, Madinah Municipality.
