Visitors experience Philippines culture at Jeddah’s Little Asia festival

JEDDAH: The Philippines pavilion at the Little Asia festival in Jeddah introduces visitors to traditional and popular Filipino arts, classical performances, folk dances, parades, arts and music, in addition to Filipino traditions, cuisine with its authentic flavors, and products ranging from clothes, bags, and accessories to cosmetics.

The event features attractions across 12 recreational zones showcasing China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

The Singapore pavilion also introduces visitors to the cultural diversity of the country with daily art, music, and theater performances, plus culinary offerings.

The Korean zone highlights the nation’s heritage through interactive experiences, activities, art and music shows, as well as fashion displays, and popular food dishes.

Admission to the Little Asia festival, which runs until March 3, is SR55 ($15) at weekends and SR35 on weekdays and tickets can be purchased via https://saudievents.sa/events-details.html?id=1012.

Saudi Arabia acknowledges ‘effective cooperation’ after Lebanese authorities seize narco lab

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia highlighted the productive cooperation between the Kingdom and Lebanon after the seizure of a drugs facility. 

The Saudi interior ministry said the lab was being used to manufacture narcotic substances and  precursor materials, in addition to firearms. 

The ministry statement, posted on social media early on Thursday, said the Kingdom acknowledges the effective cooperation with the Lebanese authorities in monitoring and controlling narcotic substances. 

The Kingdom reaffirmed its commitment to continuing efforts to combat criminal activities that threaten its security and youth through drugs, by confronting, thwarting, and apprehending those involved, the statement added.
