JEDDAH, 25 December 2003 — V. Thulasidas assumed charge as chairman and managing director of Air-India effective Monday, according to an announcement from A-I Western Province Manager S.M. Mazharullah.
Thulasidas was chief secretary to the Tripura state government from 1995 before his appointment as Air-India chief. Thulasidas, 55, was born in Alleppey district of Kerala state. He joined the Indian Administrative Services in 1972 and was assigned to the Manipur-Tripura cadre. He worked in various capacities in the federal, Tripura and Kerala governments.
