Egypt condemns deadly Pakistan terror bombing

  • Bombing targeted a rally by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F political party — a  government coalition partner
  • At least 47 people were killed and more than 100 wounded when the suicide blast ripped through the gathering

CAIRO: Egypt has condemned Sunday’s terrorist bombing at a political rally in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, northwestern Pakistan.

Funerals were held on Monday for the victims of the attack, and the Pakistan government has vowed to track down those responsible.

Egypt “renewed its firm stance toward its categorical rejection of all forms of violence, stressing its full solidarity with Pakistan in confronting extremism and terrorism,” the Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

“Egypt, government and people, expressed their sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of brotherly Pakistan in this painful affliction, and to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for all the injured.”

The bombing targeted a rally by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F political party — a  government coalition partner.
