JEDDAH, 27 June 2003 — The Lux Progress and the Saudi Pearl Insurance teams kept their hopes alive with fine performances over their rivals in the 14th week of the Friday Inter-Commercial Family Bowling League organized by the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah (FTBJ) at the Bowling World Center.
Thirty-six points were generated by Lux Progress with devastating displays from Dads Gueco and Andy Erena, both posting an impressive separate three game series of 642 and 641. Fatima Jintarat too sizzled to score a series of 578 while Toto Lim and Puri Parena chipped in with series of 530 and 512.
The Saudi Pearl Insurance, likewise stayed strong in second place behind league leaders, the Cee Bee Aviation team with 155.5 points in the overall tally board. A total of 26 points was garnered by the Saudi Pearl Insurance through sterling performance of Boy Casio, who carded 648 points with 235 and 200 in his record.
The Jeddah Lanes team keglers garnered 31 points through the heroics of Rally Zamora who carded a series of 631, rolling 258 high game in the first match. Edna Uy followed Zamora with 569 series while Jun Pilipina, Igna Salgado and Ester Jalata shared a series of 556, 551 and 541. The Cee Bee Aviation continued their winning streak to collect 29 points and tallied overall total team series handicap of 2,848. Nap Patayan downed 205 and 216 in the first and second games and scored 182 in the third game. Eddie Alisbo and Susan Patayan together with Aiza Silabay and Lindo Villanueva added a separate series of 593, 560, 546 and 518. The Rejonal Aces sealed 24 points and compiled an overall total team series handicap of 2786 points. Topscoring were the tandem of Rene Santiago and Joey Salvador, both one-time 300 perfect holder. The SkyFreight Forwarders, now in sixth position in the overall standings, got 22 points through the combined efforts of Cris Villavelez, Hero Garcia and Rod Morales by posting a series of 589, 569 and 564. Fully Primo and Lilia Banes rolled a series of 524 and 512. The NPS sealed 20 points and topscoring was Mixi Lechuga with 626, rolling a towering 269 in the second game. Ador Torres, Beth Concepcion, and Goying Salazar scored 556, 550 and 526. The Sadafco-Saudia Majestic and the Asereje registered 19 and 13 points, respectively at the helm in the Sadafco was Edu Toledo (562), followed by Bheng Cerbito (552).
