ETF and REIT lead record number of public fund investors in Q2 2021: CMA

  • The investor count for exchange-traded funds (ETFs) also experienced a considerable rise, going up by 17.7 percent to 7,040 subscribers.

The number of investors in Saudi public funds rose to a new all-time high of 402,163 by the end of this year’s second quarter, the latest statistical bulletin by the Capital Market Authority revealed.

This corresponded to a 5.2 percent quarter-on-quarter growth rate in the number of investors - referred to as subscribers in the report and a yearly expansion of 14.8 percent, it said.

The investor count for exchange-traded funds (ETFs) also experienced a considerable rise, going up by 17.7 percent to 7,040 subscribers.

In addition, the number of investors in real estate investment trusts (REITs) mainly induced this increase, growing by a quarterly rate of 13.9 percent in the second quarter of this year to reach 178,065 subscribers.
