RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has pledged 20 million Saudi riyals ($5.3 million) to provide coronavirus vaccines for developing member states in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in contribution for global efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The announcement made Monday by the OIC said the Kingdom’s donation would be channeled through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
The pledge aims to help 22 developing countries of the bloc, the statement said.
The Kingdom also called upon countries, organizations, charities and the private sector to join efforts in providing vaccines to developing nations to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman leaves hospital after medical checkup in Riyadh
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman left the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh on Friday night, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The king had been undergoing medical examinations at the hospital, SPA reported earlier.
The report added that the results of the examinations were “reassuring.”
