Saudi Arabia’s Taif municipality carries out thousands of COVID-19 inspections

RIYADH: The Taif Municipality has conducted 3,800 health inspections at commercial and food businesses as part of COVID-19 precautionary measures.

Some 40 field teams have been working around the clock to conduct inspections of efficiency, food quality, and sterilization of  restaurants, kitchens, laundries, bakeries and all consumer facilities.

Any businesses found violating the health safety measures are subject to immediate closures, the municipality said.

The sanitation programs are also being ramped up now more tourists are making their way to Taif since the easing of travel restrictions.

LONDON: Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and the Palestinian prime minister, Mohammed Mustafa, on Tuesday discussed the latest developments in Gaza.

During their meeting, which took place at the annual gathering of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, they also reviewed bilateral relations and cooperation, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Other Saudi officials present at the meeting included the Kingdom’s ambassador to Switzerland, Abdulrahman Al-Dawood; the director general of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed Al-Ismail; and Mohammed Alyahya, an advisor to the foreign minister.
