Global experts to convene for Middle East Energy event

Energy professionals from across the world will gather online on Monday for the first day of the inaugural Middle East Energy virtual event.

The online event, which is hosted on an award-winning virtual event platform, will begin with the renewable and clean energy sector week. The first week of the event will address the latest insights, trends and innovations within the industry with specific reference to green hydrogen, and solar and wind energy.

Between now and June 9, Middle East Energy will focus on a different energy industry sector each week. In addition to renewable and clean energy, they include transmission and distribution, critical and backup power, and energy consumption and management.

Claudia Konieczna, exhibition director, Middle East Energy, said: “Our debut virtual event underscores our commitment to supporting the global energy industry. We have developed a platform conducive to cultivating positive business and networking opportunities during one of the most challenging periods the industry has faced.

“We have brought together energy industry experts from across the globe to deliver a range of high-level sessions throughout each week. Experts this week will address topics including clean energy targets, the adoption of clean hydrogen, solar energy, and the opportunities around wind power. At the same time, we will also host a series of tech talks and product demonstrations.”

Opening the virtual event is Suhail Al-Mazrouei, minister of energy and infrastructure for the UAE, who will deliver a welcome speech to energy professionals from more than 85 countries worldwide.

Sessions on Day 1 include: Energy diversification and the race to meet clean energy targets — strategies to reach net-zero; Realizing the potential of clean hydrogen — Will this be the game-changer for the energy transition?; The tech talk, increasing output of solar panels: and latest innovations in PV module design and installation.

Throughout the four-week online energy event, a series of tech talks, interactive roundtables, panel discussions, thought leadership sessions and remote interviews will occur. In addition, a range of networking opportunities, including hosted buyer meetings, fireside chats, breakout sessions, personalized meetings, and speed networking sessions, have been scheduled.

“The virtual event will focus on forging partnerships, providing insights, and creating the ability to source the latest solutions. The platform will connect users with thousands of potential clients, partners and contacts across the energy market,” said Konieczna.

Connecting businesses for more than 40 years, Middle East Energy, an Informa Markets event, has been an essential part of the economic expansion of the Middle East, introducing new energy solutions to the region to support the build of infrastructure, real estate and commerce. It is now helping governments, organizations and SMEs diversify the generation and supply of energy and build a sustainable future.

Kingdom Centre’s comprehensive upgrade nears completion

Chairwoman of the Board of Kingdom Centre Nada Alateegi announced that the final phase of the comprehensive upgrade and redevelopment works at the iconic Riyadh landmark has neared completion.

Kingdom Centre was never intended to be just a shopping destination or a business hub, Alateegi said, but rather a space to deliver exceptional experiences. The experience is now being elevated to a new level of luxury that seamlessly brings together refined hospitality, high-end retail, and world-class business environments.

She said that Kingdom Centre, inaugurated in 2001, commenced its modernization project in April 2023. The project is being implemented in partnership with a group of top-tier global designers and renowned contractors, and led by the Kingdom Centre management team, to ensure the highest standards of quality and precision.

The upgrades were carried out in accordance with the best safety practices, while maintaining uninterrupted operations and ensuring visitors’ comfort and safety are preserved throughout, Alateegi said. This approach reflects the vision and directives of Prince Alwaleed bin Talal and has contributed to the center receiving several awards, including its recognition for “visionary design and development.”

She added that Kingdom Centre had installed the largest fully integrated digital screen on Kingdom Tower facades, operated exclusively in partnership with digital advertising and media solutions leader Rotana Signs. The screen serves as an international showcase reflecting Riyadh’s evolution and its growing global standing.

Kingdom Centre is also home to the Four Seasons Hotel, one of the world’s most prestigious hospitality brands, in addition to VOX Cinemas, purpose-designed to world-class specifications guided by the center’s management vision.

Moreover, Kingdom Centre introduced Al-Mamlaka Social Dining zone, which has become one of the region’s leading dining experiences and a model for other investors. Conceived by the center’s management to elevate the visitor experience, the Social Dining concept has been officially registered as the intellectual property of Kingdom Centre.

Kingdom Centre has also launched a mobile application and a dedicated visitor loyalty program offering a range of benefits. This initiative is part of the center’s digital transformation strategy and aims to strengthen long-term engagement with visitors.

Kingdom Centre’s management remains committed to setting a leading example for the sector, delivering innovative experiences that support Saudi Arabia’s tourism ambitions and align with Saudi Vision 2030, Alateegi added.
