Border Guards Spokesman Lt. Col. Misfer bin Ghannam Al-Quraini said that this was a result of follow-up action against organized crime networks’ attempts to smuggle drugs and psychotropic substances across the Kingdom’s land and sea borders.
Al-Quraini said that 94 people were arrested — 75 in Jazan, 13 in Asir and 6 in Najran — after they were observed crossing the Kingdom’s borders. Official proceedings against them have begun. Border Guards continued to protect the Kingdom from any activities that threatened the country’s security, stability and capabilities, he said.
